Weather Cancellations

Weather Forecasts

With the unreliability of long-range weather forecasting we don’t make decisions to cancel a flight days in advance – we typically wait until the day of the flight to make a decision to cancel. Often the forecast may look poor at a glance but upon further inspection it may only be part of the day when the forecast is calling for weather that won’t be suitable for flying.

Cancellations

If we do need to cancel your flight due to poor weather we’ll contact you at least an hour before the flight to give you the option to reschedule to a different day or to just cancel and receive a full refund of your deposit. Please make sure that you can be reached at the phone number you’ve provided and that you will answer the phone, we are having increasing issues with not being able to get an answer when we phone passengers due to a weather cancellation.

“Just wanted to let you know how impressed we were with our flight last evening. I can’t even tell you how much we enjoyed it! Bart is an amazing pilot, very knowledgeable and very friendly!”

Flying Conditions

Safety and our passengers’ enjoyment of the flight are our top priority. We have extensive experience interpreting the weather and there are many things we consider when assessing if the conditions will be suitable for flying. While a clear, sunny day or a cloudless sunset flight are beautiful, there are many other cloud conditions that also make for a very enjoyable flight and good photo-taking opportunities. We ask that passengers trust our judgement of the weather; if you’re looking for very specific conditions for your flight we recommend booking just a day before the flight when the forecast is likely to be more accurate than it is days in advance. A small deposit is required at the time of booking, which is only refundable if your pilot cancels the flight due to unsafe flying weather.
